Map the Gap Hackathon

When: April 2nd, 2026
Where: Mundo Madou Venue, Brussels Belgium
Organisers: KOC University, EHTEL,
DIESIS, EASPD and White Research

On April 2nd, 2026, EQUICARES will host a one-day, in-person Hackathon in Brussels, bringing together experts, practitioners, policy makers, data specialists, service users, and representatives of vulnerable groups.

The event will adopt a cooperative format, focused on collaboration and co-creation. Participants will work in interdisciplinary teams to refine and prioritise indicators capturing mental healthcare access barriers and to strengthen the practical usability of the Levesque Access Framework.

Key Objectives
• Identify and prioritise qualitative and quantitative access indicators
• Improve the framework’s contextual relevance across healthcare levels
• Develop actionable recommendations to enhance its applicability

Through scenario-based analysis and cross-team review, each group will develop a draft Mental Healthcare Accessibility Assessment Tool, generate key usability insights, and propose concise, action-oriented recommendations.

Following the event, all outputs will be consolidated into a synthesis report to inform on the refinement of the framework and feed directly into our deliverables.
The Hackathon marks an important step towards building a more inclusive, evidence-based, and operational approach to mental healthcare accessibility across Europe!
