Concept

Why EQUICARES?

Healthcare disparities in the EU are widening, challenging the principle of universal and equitable access. People in vulnerable situations, such as migrants, the Roma and the LQBTQIA+ communities, people with mental and or physical disabilities as well as elderly and youth populations , struggle to access quality mental health services, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Barriers include inadequate legal protections, geographic disparities, social stigma, and poor mental health literacy.
Ensure that policy and decision makers have enhanced access to quality data, helping them to identify barriers to service access, the unmet needs of people in vulnerable situations, as well as relevant innovations, and produce evidence-based recommendations towards the scale-up, and replication of our results.
