The EQUICARES pilot use case in Thessaloniki, Greece, focuses on addressing the mental health needs of elderly women, migrants, and refugees.
The project aims to identify mental health challenges within these groups, explore barriers and enablers to accessing care, and co-create solutions with local vulnerable actors.
Key challenges include an unstructured primary healthcare system, lack of data and digitalisation in mental health services, and language and cultural barriers.
The project will gather data on mental health access, identify key obstacles, and test pilot solutions.
Activities will include a literature review, focus groups, and the implementation of innovative solutions within local communities.

Lead Partner: GIVMED (Attica Area)

The EQUICARES pilot use case in Athens, Greece, focuses on improving mental health services for migrants, refugees, and unaccompanied children.
The project aims to gather data on the mental healthcare system, particularly community-based primary care, and identify gaps in accessibility for people in vulnerable situations.
Key activities include building a Smart Health Lab to design health promotion programs, conducting MOOCs and training workshops, and testing an AI Assistant to assist care providers.
The initiative also tackles challenges like language barriers, stigma, and limited service access, with the goal of enhancing service access, increasing awareness, and empowering stakeholders, including policymakers.
