On 26 June 2026, GIVMED organised the second EQUICARES warm-up event combined with a co-creation workshop at the premises of the Smart Health Lab (SHL) at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). The event brought together young people, mental health experts and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the future of the EQUICARES Smart Health Lab and contribute to the development of more inclusive and accessible mental health solutions.
The objective of the workshop was to actively involve potential users and key actors in the design process of the SHL, ensuring that its future services address real needs and reflect the perspectives of the communities it aims to support. The event followed a participatory format, combining an introduction to EQUICARES with discussions, group activities and collaborative reflection.
During the warm-up session, participants were introduced to the EQUICARES project, its objectives and the vision behind the Smart Health Lab. GIVMED presented the project’s recent research findings and provided participants with supporting materials, including presentations, banners and leaflets, to facilitate understanding and discussion.
The co-creation workshop encouraged participants to exchange experiences and perspectives through both plenary discussions and smaller working groups. Together, participants explored key aspects related to the development of SHL, including:
-
the main mental health needs and challenges faced by young people;
-
barriers that may prevent access to appropriate support and services;
-
possible solutions and innovative approaches;
-
the role of different stakeholders in the future operation of the Smart Health Lab.
